How Much You Get Per Click with Google Adsense?

The amount you get per click with the Google Adsense program varies. If you want to know how much you earn per click all you have to do is have your website or it's pages broken down by channels. If you look in the morning or whenever you have very few clicks, you can see what you are making per click.

Here's an example of a few of my channels with how much I made for 1 click:

You can also divide your earnings into your clicks to get an average per click.

You can image my shock when one day I got a click for $47.29. That's very very rare. I think the advertiser must have made a mistake. At the time I thought that when Google reviewed the account at the end of the month they'd take that money back but they didn't. If I run an Advanced Report for May 22nd, the day of the high click, I can still see the click:

So I definitely got paid for it!

Srictly Follow - The Adsense Rules

1. Strictly follow the Terms of Service Google Adsense. You will always earn more revenue from Adsense by playing it clean and ensure your account will not be blocked or banned.

2. Never modify the Google Adsense HTML code! If have problems embedding Adsense code in your WordPress or Blogger template, take help of the Adsense support forums or send an email to your Adsense account manager.

3. Never ask your friends or visitors to click on your Google ads. Google takes click fraud very seriously!! Do not include incentives of any kind on your site for users to click on your ads. Don’t label Google ads with text other than “sponsored links” or “advertisements”.

4. Don’t click on your own ads! Google is much smarter than you think and can discover invalid clicks through IP addresses, site navigation patterns, etc. If you working on a new design for your site, avoid reloading your pages (with Adsense) excessively. You can turn off AdSense temporarily and avoid invalid CPM impressions. Or you can use the unofficial Google Adsense Sandbox Tool that is accessible from Firefox, IE and other browsers to see what kind of Google ads will be served based on content (website address URL) or keywords.

5. Don’t place ads in pop-up windows. With the new AdSense policy change, you can probably place ads on 404 pages. Check with the AdSense support team.

6. Don’t start a “adsense asbestos” or “home equity loan rates” website merely to make money from accidental clicks. You will never make money out these Made for Adsense websites. Instead, write on topics what you are passionate about. Don’t waste your money on high-paying adsense keywords lists.

7. Stay away from AdSense Adwords arbitrage.

8. Don’t places images next to Google ads as that will invite a permanent ban to your AdSense account.

If you are aware from the Google AdSense for Domains and you have number of parked domain then you might have a knowledge about how to set up google adsense for domain. AdSense for domains allows publishers with undeveloped domains to help users by providing relevant information including ads, links and search results.

How To Set Up Google Adsense For Domain

With AdSense for domains, users can find relevant information rather than see empty pages or "page not found" errors. If you have undeveloped domains, then AdSense for domains can help your users. This article is assist you to pointing your domains to Google's servers, allowing you to display Google ads on your hosted domains.

Pointing your domains to Google's servers

The simplest way to assign your domains to AdSense for domains is to delegate your domains' nameserver to Google's DNS nameserver, which is described below. Alternatively, you can update your domain’s A records and CNAME, though this is more complicated.

Delegating your nameservers is a single step with most domain registrars. All you need to do is change you domain's nameserver to be all four of these values:

As soon as the records validate, usually within 24 hours, google will start serving ads to traffic that comes to your site.

How to set your domain’s A records and CNAME Record

First, if you've previously changed your domain's nameserver, make sure you change it back to point to your registrar's default nameservers.(If you're not sure, you probably have not changed this and don't need to change anything.)

Second, create the following CNAME (alias) records for your www host using your domain registrar. You can find your unique identifier on the AdSense for domains setup page:

Host Name/Alias
Record Type
Value/Destination
wwwCNAME (alias)
pub-xxxxxxxxx.afd.ghs.google.com.(where pub-xxxxxxxxx is your unique ID listed on the AdSense setup page)

Next, create the following A records for your domains at your domain registrar

Host Name/Alias
Record Type
Value/Destination
@A (address)
216.239.32.21
@A (address)
216.239.34.21
@A (address)
216.239.36.21
@A (address)
216.239.38.21

Note: Please be sure that these four A records are the only existing A records for your domain. For information on common DNS terms including both A and CNAME records, visit the Google Apps Basic Guide to DNS.

Note: Google is not involved with the selection or registration of any domain names, and is not in a position to arbitrate trademark disputes between the registrants, advertiser partners, and trademark owners.

Google Adsense Tips for Ad Relevance & Targetting

We have already seen the tips about Google Adsense earlier which was published by Inside Adsense Team. Now here We will see the tips about Ad Relevancy and Ad Targeting, Carefully read the whole post and make your mind clear about Google Adsenes Fundas.

If you're seeing irrelevant ads or public service ads (PSAs) on your pages after you've pasted the ad code into your HTML source code and waited the recommended 48 hrs, here are a things to check:

Have you placed the AdSense ad code in frames separate from the main content of your website? If so, you may experience ad targeting issues. In order for our crawlers to match the ads to the content of your website, it is important to place the ad code in the same frame as the main content of your webste. If you're familiar with HTML, and your website is talking about several different topics you could also consider implementing section targeting on your site to highlight relevant content.

Do you have mostly dynamic content on your site? Our crawlers currently can't derive meaning from these types of files:
- audio and video files (.wma, .mpeg, .mov)
- mp3 files (.mp3)
- images (.jpeg, .bmp)
- Macromedia Flash movies
- Java Applets
To receive more relevant ads, we recommend including plenty of text-based content on your site, including complete sentences and paragraphs.

Do your pages use session IDs? A session ID is a piece of data serves as a unique identifier for a session. If your pages use session IDs, you may not receive targeted ads on those pages. Since this session ID - and therefore the URL - changes every time a different user views a page, the URL will not be indexed and will need to be crawled from scratch. Once the URL is crawled, however, the session will most likely have expired. This means that pages seen by the users are rarely in the index. You'll need to remove the session IDs in order to show more targeted ads to your users.

We hope these tips help you resolve any targeting issues you experience with your ads. Next week, we'll take a look at some other reasons why you may see irrelevant ads or PSAs on your site, and how you can best resolve them.

This is the second post made by official google adsense blog, so if you have again any query we can discuss, you just need to comment. Best Luck for Using Adsense and Happy Earnings.

The Best Banner Sizes for AdSense

Google AdSense can provide banners ads in eight standard sizes but if you are not too sure which of these sizes will perform best on your website, read this.

The graph below shows relative click rates (CTR) for all the standard banner ad sizes (relative to the classic "full banner") and as is obvious from the picture, the ad performance or click through rates are much better for larger ad units.

Best Performing Banner Ad Sizes

If you are using a medium 300x250 rectangle format on your site, it may be a good idea to do some split testing (for say a week) and then probably replace that unit with a large 336x280 rectangle. Similarly, try squeezing in a wide skyscraper in place of that 120x600 Skyscraper that you may be having on your site.

And while it is easy to include a 728x90 Leaderboard in almost every site design, make sure that it is not the first unit in your HTML source as it is not always the best performing unit.

Another interesting point here is that the 125x125 square ad format, which is now quite popular among the blogger community, seems to attract lower clicks than even the 468x60 banner of the "geocities era" so your advertisers may not be feeling very happy about this.

Types of Adsense - Google Adsense sizes

Google Adsense Sizes are in variety and they are banner ads or small squares, text links, video units, or search units.  The size of your Google Adsense ad can determines the amount of money you make from it.  Some publishers uses large rectangles while others place a single small square on their pages, some make decision to use images while others opt for text link.
To start with let us look at the Google Adsense sizes for ad units. The leader board 720 x 90 is the same with the Banner ads that were well known in the 2000 to 2002 and if you make use of this size and enable images, you may get an actual banner some of the time.  Other horizontal Google Adsense sizes are 486 x 60 and 234 x 60 half banner. There are two towers – one is a 120 x 600 skyscraper and the other is slightly thicker 160 x 600 skyscraper and also you can also get 120 x 240 vertical banner in this category.

There are six kinds of squares and they are;
1. The 336 x 280 large rectangle and a great number of publishers have found this particular Google Adsense            size's ad to be their best performing.
2. The 300 x 250 medium rectangle
3. The 250 x 250 square
4. The 200 x 200 small square
5. The 180 x 150 small rectangle
6. The 125 x 125 small square.

You may find that you get a lot of money on your clicks if you use the small sizes and no other units it is because the small sizes show only one ad but do not ignore other Adsense properties in favor of the more traditional Adsense for Content units for example there are link units that come in six Google Adsense sizes and feature four or five links.

There is an Adsense for Search ad feature which have been improved recently and this allows you to place a Google search bar on your web site, if people click on that and then click on the ads on the page it generates, you receive amount of the money.

There are different kinds of Google Adsense Sizes. You can have banner ads or small squares, text links, video units, or search units. The size of your Google Adsense ad can impact how much money you make from it.
Some publishers favor large rectangles while others place a single small square on their pages. Some opt for images while others want only text links. There are a whole variety of options. This article looks at Google Adsese sizes.
First, let’s look at the Google Adsense sizes for ad units. The 720 x 90 leaderboard is similar to the Banner ads that were so popular in the 2000 to 2002 (pre dot bomb) era. In fact, if you use this size and enable images, you may get an actual banner some of the time. Other horizontal Google Adsense sizes are 486 x 60 and 234 x 60 half banner.
Next, we’ll examine the vertical Google Adsense sizes. There are two towers – one is a 120 x 600 skyscraper and the other is a slightly thicker 160 x 600 skyscraper. In this category, you also get the 120 x 240 vertical banner.
Then, there are six kinds of squares. The largest is the 336 x 280 large rectangle. Many publishers have found this particular Google Adsense size’s ad to be their best performing.
Other squares include the 300 x 250 medium rectangle, the 250 x 250 square, the 200 x 200 small square, 180 x 150 small rectangle and the 125 x 125 small square. The small sizes display only one ad. If you are going to use these and no other units, you may find that your clicks have a higher payout than average.
But don’t overlook the other Adsense properties in favor of the more traditional Adsense for Content units. For instance, there link units that come in six Google Adsense sizes and feature four or five links.
Additionally, there is a recently improved Adsense for Search ad feature. This allows you to place a Google search bar on your web site. If people click on that and then click on the ads on the page it generates, you get a fraction of the money.
There’s also Adsense for Feeds. If you have a feedburner account, it is easy to add ads to your RSS.If you have domains just sitting around not being used, add Adsense for Domains to your parked sites and make money off of them. You can place videos from Youtube on your site and make money from them using Adsense Video units.
Finally, if your website is set up so that mobile units can access them, placing Adsense for Mobile Content can bring you another revenue stream.
There are a variety of Google Adsense sizes and programs. Figuring out which ones will make you the most money is part of the job of every Adsense publisher. Google Adsense Tips

1.i It’s tested and it works. Use the same colour of your page background, for the border and the background of the ad.
Adsense: blend colors with your page background

1.ii Use the same colors used in your page, for the Adsense ad title, text and url link.
Adsense: blend colors of title, text and url

1.iiia If possible use the same font in your page, as the Adsense ads. Since the ads have variable text size and font, according to dimension and type of ad, you can never do this 100% right. But every little
bit helps.

Adsense font size for an 300x250 text ad unit
As you can notice above, some ads have the arial font as default, some have verdana. Some have a 10px description text, some have 11px. And besides all that, each box may contain 1 up to 4 ads, and depending on that the font sizes will change. So it’s really up to you to experiment and see what works best for you, in as many cases as possible.
1.iv Try to not separate the ad from the content (like trashing the ad in some remote corner of your website. Integrate it within the content (in, within, next to, above, below etc).
Adsense: blend ads with the content Adsense: blend ads with the content Adsense: blend ads with the content

2. Placing ads high on a page is good

Position the ads with the highest CTR, as high as possible in the page, in the source’s order (in the image below, notice that the ad appears just below the body tag). The first ads that appear in the pages (in the source’s order) get the most income per click.
Adsense: position your ad as high as possible

3. Use images. Images and Adsense work together

Use images left or right of the ads. It makes them seen as part of the pages content, and your CTR increases. It doesn’t matter what images you use. Use any plain generic images. If you can, try to corelate those with the niche/domain of your website/blog. Be carefull not to write text, point arrows or similar on the images, as that might be seen as click incentives.
Adsense: blend ads with images

4. Earnings are variable, based on CTR

With the Smart pricing ideea, your income varies a lot, according to each of your channel’s CTR rate.
Now this is very important: It’s account-wide, not channel-wide. So if you have a very good CTR (5%-50%) for one website, and you include it in the same account with a 0.04# CTR website, you will loose money.
Remove all the websites (from your account) that don’t have at least a 5% CTR (or depeding on your overall CTR, remove the ones that are really lower than your average), or you’ll affect the income of all the other good converting websites.

5. Use non-standard types of ads

We all know that web-savvy (eg. webmasters or people that use the Internet for so many years, and know all the standards, convetions and so on) users are ad-blind.
Banners like 468×80 have been on the Internet since it’s creation. Even people who use the Internet vaguely or once a month, are kind of blind to these standard banners.
Instead, use vertical skyscrapers, or boxed ads. They have a much higher click rate. The Adsense team even published a list of their highest performing ad sizes:
  • 336×280 large rectangle
  • 300×250 inline rectangle
  • 160×600 wide skyscraper

Making Money from Your Website with Google AdSense

Google AdSense for Content - A variety of size and shape ads for placing in your content are available. These can be text or image ads or both - you specify what you'll allow. Ad units are full ads. Link units are simply a strip of text links that your visitors might want to click. Google allows you to put up to 3 Ad Units and 1 Link unit on each page of your Web site, provided you follow its policies - both for AdSense and for Webmasters.

Google AdSense for Search - This places a search box on your Web site. When a user enters a term and conducts a search, a search results page opens, that hosts more pay-per-click ads. You can customize the color scheme of the search results page to harmonize with your web site.

Google Referrals - Here you make money by referring visitors to use a Google product, like AdSense, AdWords, the Google Toolbar and other Google software. Just like Google AdSense for Content and AdSense for Search, Google generates the code that you paste into the desired location on your web page. You can choose from a wide variety of buttons and text links of different colors. As an example of how Google Referrals works, if someone goes to your site and clicks the link and signs up for an AdSense account, when that person earns a $100 from Google AdSense and receives a payout from Google, you'll also receive $100 for referring them. This is a great idea to me, because you can be the world's worst Google AdSense advertiser, but if an ad dynamo happens to visit your site and uses your referral link, you can make money anyway!

Google AdSense Payments

Google will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings exceed $100. Unfortunately, there are loads of Google AdSense Forum entries about website operators who accumulated $90 or more in click through earnings only to get banned from Google and not get paid anything at all before they ever reached $100. This may be because Google doesn't take a close look to see if you're complying with their guidelines until it comes time to pay you. So yes, there's a lot more to the story than meets the eye.

Other Programs Besides AdSense

Yahoo and MSN have similar programs, although those programs aren't as well-developed as Google AdSense and there aren't as many available advertisers to display ads on your site. The fundamentals for making money are the same: You still need plenty of traffic, you still need high-paying ads, and you still need to design your site to harmonize with the ads to get people to click.
